My client is Northern Ireland’s leading hardware distributor
of Agricultural, Building, DIY and Household products. They have over 100
years’ experience of offering / supplying a comprehensive range of goods to a
wide mix of retail / trade merchants. The Hardware Division is made up of 3 market-leading
companies, specialising in the wholesale hardware sector, all companies have a
long-established network of customers across NI and ROI.
Due to the continued development of the business, an
exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing Manager to
join this well-respected Group. In this new role you will support the Divisional
Purchasing Manager.
Key Responsibilities: -

Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.

Track and report key functional metrics to
reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

Craft negotiation strategies and close deals
with optimal terms.
-
Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear
requirements documentation.
-
Forecast price and market trends to identify
changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
-
Perform cost and scenario analysis, and
benchmarking.
-
Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
-
Seek and partner with reliable vendors and
suppliers.
-
Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
-
Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
Essential Requirements:
-
Proven working experience in a purchasing
department.
-
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
-
The proven ability to negotiate and network.
-
Working experience of vendor management software.
-
Ability to gather and analyse data competently.
-
Solid judgement along with decision making
skills.
-
Full clean driving license and be willing to
travel to other divisional company premises.
Desirable Requirements:
-
Third level qualification in relevant area.
-
Experience in a similar role in the last 3
years.
-
Experience in hardware arena including fixings
and fasteners.

Working understanding of import duty.
-
Knowledge of forecasting.

People Management experience.
Benefits Package:
Client is offering an attractive starting salary in the
region of £40k to £45k depending on experience. 32 days holiday, Mon to Thur
