Jordanstown School

Jordanstown School is a grant-maintained specialist school for children and young people aged 3-19 who are deaf and/or vision impaired. The school delivers the Northern Ireland Curriculum and prepares pupils for a wide range of public examinations.

There are currently 91 pupils enrolled at the school, and in addition to sensory loss, pupils with a range of other Special Educational Needs are catered for by the school.

There are currently 54 staff, including teaching and support staff, who work together towards the school’s mission of maximising the potential of every child in its care. Staff make extensive use of digital technologies for providing learning resources for all pupils. Where necessary, teachers are supported in their communication with deaf pupils through the provision of a sign language assistant.
