Our Assistant Tax Manager will provide support to the Group Tax Manager in helping the Group meet its tax compliance obligations, for example regarding corporation tax, employment tax and VAT.

Duties will include:
To provide assistance and support to the Group Tax Manager in the following areas:

  • Preparation and submission of the corporation tax computations and detailed capital allowances claims.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns, EC sales lists and Intrastat declarations.
  • Preparation and submission of CIS returns.
  • Preparation of the annual PAYE settlement agreement calculations and other calculations such as termination payments.
  • Tax forecasting and year end reporting provisions for individual companies and the consolidated group.
  • Regularly review and update tax procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Manage the group tax timetable for compliance deadlines and quarterly instalment payments.
  • Build and maintain tax relationships with other areas of the business to gather appropriate tax information and provide robust tax advice.
  • Communications with external parties including HMRC and Tax Advisers.
  • Tax specific project / advisory work as and when required.
  • All other areas of tax compliance and tax legislation changes as appropriate.
Essential Criteria:
  • Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Tax
    OR
  • Qualified member of the Association of Tax Technicians with at least 2 years post-qualification experience in a tax environment
    OR
  • Qualified member of a recognised Accountancy body with at least 5 years’ experience in UK tax
    AND
  • Strong technical knowledge across two or more of the following taxes: corporation tax, VAT, income tax, capital gains tax
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel in a finance environment
  • ?Candidates will be required to demonstrate technical tax knowledge prior to interview.
