McKinty Associates are working with Belfast based Third Sector
organisation who have a requirement for a Senior Finance Officer to join their team. The Finance Officer will be responsible
for providing an efficient and effective financial and administration service
for the Association.
Reporting to the Finance Manager the successful individual will work to
support the organisation across a variety of areas allowing for a varied role
including the day-to-day administration of financial and accounting records
including payment systems, nominal ledger, purchase ledger, fixed asset records
and payroll processing.
Main duties will include:

Preparation and
posting monthly accruals and prepayments.
·
Reconciliation of
all balance sheet, salary and income nominal ledger accounts.
·
Managing the Purchase ledger system, including
processing invoices, preparing payments and resolving queries.
·
Administration of
Board and staff expenses.
·
Supporting an
effective procurement and contract management process.
·
Payroll including
validating timesheets, amending payroll and pensions date and completing real
time submissions to HMRC.
·
Monthly
administration and reconciliation of the Association’s component ledger to
nominal ledger.
·
Monthly update and
administration of the Association’s Fixed Assets Register.
·
Monthly
reconciliation of the bank and investment accounts.
·
Producing reports.
·
Daily preparation
of the cash received, cheques issued, journals on spreadsheets and weekly
posting of transactions to the nominal ledger.
·
Any other
reasonable and relevant duties as and when requested by management.
Eligibility criteria:
·
Professional
accountancy qualification - Qualified Accounts Technician / Part Qualified
Accountant.
·
Previous experience
in a similar role (3 years or more).
·
Experience in accounts packages.
·
Excellent Excel skills (vlookups, sumif, pivot
tables etc).
·
Experience of working on own initiative and as
part of small team.
·
High level of organisational skills and
ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
·
Enthusiastic and
positive attitude.
·
Excellent
communicator and able to build relationships and rapport.
