Technician (Grade 5)

The successful candidate will become part of the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine working on the gut-lung axis in the lab of Dr Aoife Rodgers.

About the person:

The successful must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

• Hold academic and/or vocational qualifications E.g NVQ 3, 2 A levels, ONC/OND, City & Guilds level 3 orequivalents in a relevant subject
• Have 3 years work experience in a relevant role to include at least 1-years’ experience in handling andmaintaining experimental animal models/samples from mice.
• Have 3 years of recent relevant work experience to include (at least THREE of the following):
  • Tissue culture
  • Microbiome analysis
  • Flow cytometry
  • Western Blotting
  • ELISA

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
