Your new role
As a Production Team Leader, you will ensure that your team operates to maximum efficiency and in line with production requirements, always prioritising safety and quality. You will oversee people and production management in a safe, clean working environment, operating on shifts from 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm. Your responsibilities will include adherence to quality and health and safety procedures, critical thinking to follow production schedules and solve problems, driving and planning to meet and exceed production targets, and effective communication with other departments. You will also be responsible for motivating, engaging, and communicating with operators, monitoring time and attendance, maintaining discipline in safety and quality, and ensuring timely material delivery and cross-training for operational effectiveness.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need education to certificate or diploma level, with further training and development in manufacturing excellence, lean activities, and people management being advantageous. You should have reasonable IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft packages and ERP systems, and at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. A track record of achieving targets, strong organisational and time-management skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to addressing issues are essential. You should be a natural communicator and influencer, with a keen understanding of the importance of safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
