Your new role
As a Production Manager, you will report to the Operations Director and be responsible for overseeing the production staff and operatives across the whole site. Your main duties will include ensuring adherence to health and safety policies, leading a safety culture within the production team, managing production schedules to meet targets, and optimising production planning for efficiency. You will coordinate closely with logistics, nutrition, customer service, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations and high-quality standards. Additionally, you will play a key role in site visits, audits, trials, and improvement projects, while also focusing on staff development and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need strong team-building and communication skills, the ability to plan and work under pressure, and a hands-on leadership style that can motivate and inspire teams. A degree or HND in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field is essential, along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing leadership role within a Production Environment. Knowledge of ISO and quality standards, experience with DSL automation systems, and qualifications in IOSH Managing Safely and HACCP Level 3 are also required. Proficiency in MS Office and SCADA systems, as well as experience in a lean manufacturing environment, will be advantageous.
