Role Overview
We currently have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Administrator to join the team to support both H&J Martin Construction and FK Lowry.

As a health and safety administrator, you will use your knowledge and skills to support and promote a positive health and safety culture and provide H&S support on our sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
You will ensure company employees and subcontractor workers fully comply with all relevant health and safety legislation, company health and safety policy and ensure industry good practices are adopted and adhered to.

What you'll do
The following reflect the main tasks associated with the position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

· Maintain and update health and safety records, including training records, incident reports, and risk assessments.

  • Prepare and distribute health and safety reports, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate health and safety systems, such as software or databases.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, dealing with correspondence related to health and safety.
  • Maintain an effective filing system and ensure the security and confidentiality of information.
  • Support incident investigations and preventive actions.
  • Support health & safety programs, including training and competency frameworks.
  • Participate in wider Group Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives.
  • Act as the first point of contact for health and safety inquiries, both internally and externally.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, managers, and other departments regarding health and safety matters.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Make contact with contractors for up to date information
  • Analyze existing health and safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collate safety observations and near miss QR code reports
  • Track and monitor performance against health and safety targets and metrics.
  • Assist with the preparation of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Support the delivery of health and safety training programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and distribute safety-related communications, such as toolbox talks and safety alerts.

What you'll bring
As a Health & Safety Administrator your main skills and experience will include:

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience working in the Construction Industry.
  • Full Driving License.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of H&S legislation, risk assessment, and safety culture development.
  • Proficiency in IT systems.
  • Flexibility for UK & ROI travel.

Desirable Criteria:
It would be desirable that candidates could demonstrate the following skills and attributes for this new role:

  • The National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety - delivered by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).
  • Membership of appropriate accredited industry body, e.g., IOSH (Technical or Grad IOSH).
  • The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and as an individual.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, 9001, 14001
