Since launch, our client has built a network of +2800 registered users, including +1300 investors, and has supported 1,500 companies on their fundraising activities. As they prepare to become FCA regulated, they are scaling operations to offer a seamless, end-to-end investment experience.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in expanding our client's investor network and onboarding high-quality investment opportunities. You will build relationships with startup founders, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), family offices, and institutional investors, ensuring the company remains the go-to platform for early-stage investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and engage new investors (HNWIs, family offices, institutional investors, IFAs) through inbound leads, outbound outreach, referrals, and networking.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with startup founders, understanding their funding needs and connecting them with investors.
- Work closely with marketing, partnerships, and legal teams to improve processes and provide strategic feedback.
- Stay ahead of trends in the UK and European early-stage investment market, ensuring the firm remains competitive.
- Represent the company at industry events, roadshows, panel discussions, and investor meetings to promote the platform.
- Maintain accurate records of investor interactions.
- Work autonomously while collaborating effectively with the wider team to drive business growth.
About You
We’re looking for self-starters who are passionate about early-stage investment and the startup ecosystem. You don’t need a specific degree, but you should have the skills, drive, and mindset to thrive in a fast-growing investment platform.
Ideally, you:
- Will have 4+ years of experience in consultative sales, business development, or partnerships, preferably in finance, VC, PE, or startups.
- Are commercially focused, able to prioritise effectively, and driven to achieve revenue targets.
- Have a strong network of HNWIs, family offices, institutional investors, or IFAs (a major plus).
- Are confident engaging with C-suite executives, investors, and startup founders.
- Are adaptable and comfortable in a fast-changing, high-growth business environment.
- Have excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Are passionate about startups, entrepreneurship, and investment.
- Are based in the UK with the flexibility to travel as needed.
