Head of Finance and Corporate Services

The Board of Governors of Hunterhouse College is seeking to appoint a Head of Finance and Corporate Services, commencing 1st July 2025, The Head of Finance and Corporate Services is responsible for the school’s financial affairs and for human resources, operations, estate and facilities management and development.

The right person will possess significant experience in leading and managing teams while consistently upholding the highest standards of business ethics. They will possess a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality and have strong ICT and financial management skills. They will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills be able to engage with multiple stakeholders. Additionally, they will identify with the ethos and values of the College.

Shortlisting Criteria – by date of application

Salary - The salary range for this role is NJC Points 53 – 56, currently £63,204 - £66,351. The Board of Governors will determine the salary point for the successful candidate.

Essential

• A fully qualified accountant with a recognised accountancy qualification
• A minimum of three years’ experience in a senior financial and general business management role
• A minimum of two years’ experience of running a payroll package
• A minimum of two years’ experience of leading and managing staff

Desirable

• Financial accounting experience within an educational setting
• An understanding of the nature and position of Northern Ireland Voluntary Grammar Schools
• Experience of human resources processes, including recruitment and policy development
• Experience and knowledge of the use of MIS and/or C2k systems
• Demonstrable sound understanding of corporate governance systems and experience of working with a Board of Governors
• Experience of ensuring that robust systems are in place to enable an organisation to meet its objectives in accordance with organisational values, legal, regulatory and best practice requirements
