Grants Officer (Public Sector)

MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with this Public Sector ALB in their search for a Grants Officer.

The role:

• Ensure project expenses are eligible, accurate, and within budget.
• Complete verification forms, report non-compliance, and flag irregularities for recovery.
• Ensure projects comply with grant terms and funding conditions.
• Tailor verification tasks to identify and address irregularities.
• Report non-compliance to the Governance Officer with improvement recommendations.
• Contribute to reviewing funding schemes and policies, adjusting to priorities.
• Securely store all financial records.
• Assist with internal and external audits on funding verification.

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

• 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C or above), including Maths and English.
• Experience carrying out verification or audit of expenditure

OR

• Experience working in financial accounting.

OR

• Experience conducting payroll processing.
• Experience reviewing financial processes and / or controls.
• Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders to achieve a positive outcome.
