Casual Receptionist - WEEKENDS AND EVENINGS
Temp Contract – 30 weeks (approx. may be extended)
The post holder will be at the forefront of customer services dealing
with the public at the reception desk, by telephone and by email. The duties
will also include operating a computerised booking and box office system, cash
handling, issuing receipts and maintenance of information databases, directing
conference delegates and other users.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provision of a full
range of receptionist services including dealing with the public in
person, by telephone and by email in accordance with the Council’s
Customer Care standards.
- Operation of the
switchboard ensuring calls are correctly diverted and messages received
promptly delivered.
- Operation of a
computerised box office/cash system and undertaking the uploading of
events and maintenance of season programme information onto the
computerized box office system.
- To action room bookings
received from Council departments, confirming room bookings, avoiding room
booking conflicts through usage of computerised room booking system. All
in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures.
- Reconciliation of cash
and processing lodgements in accordance with Council procedures.
- Provision of clerical
and administrative support to include word processing, assisting with
purchasing, filing, budget monitoring and maintenance of records and
processing incoming/outgoing mail and email messages.
PERSON SPECIFICATION – RECEPTIONIST
Qualifications and Experience:
1.1 –
Five GCSE passes at Grade A-C or NVQ Level 2 in administration (or equivalent).
1.2 – One year’s
experience in a customer service environment or receptionist post.
Where
applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in 1.1, they must
demonstrate a minimum of three years’
experience as outlined in 1.2.
Knowledge:
1 .3 –
A working knowledge of computer packages to include Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable:
1.4 – Current Fire Warden Training

Location: Lisburn
Position/Hours: Casual
weekend and evening receptionist to work on an as-needed basis. Shifts
typically run from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM, though times may vary. The main
responsibility will be operating the box office ticketing system during events.
Rate of pay: £13.26
Start Date: 21st April 25
