Enniskillen Integrated Primary School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Specialist Provision in Learning Teacher to join our team in ‘The Bridges’, a specialist provision class designed to support pupils with diverse learning needs. Essential Criteria:
- Hold a teaching qualification which meets the requirements for recognition to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland and a knowledge of the Northern Ireland Curriculum
- Be registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI)before taking up post
- 2 years continuous teaching experience in a Primary School within the past 5 year period not including teaching practice.
- Ability to demonstrate experience with SEN and use of a different range of classroom approaches to support SEN.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and its implications.
- Ability to demonstrate experience of working with a range of professionals to meet the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
- Excellent Oral, written and communication skills, the ability to work effectively with, and through others and the capacity to make sound judgements.
- Ability to demonstrate experience of using digital/assistive technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- An understanding of a commitment to the Principles and values of Integrated Education, all- ability education in Northern Ireland.
Desirable Criteria:
- Minimum of six months paid demonstrable teaching experience in a Special School or a Special Provision in Learning class linked to a Primary School.
- Ability to demonstrate experience of the Annual Review process.
- Ability to demonstrate experience of writing PLPs / Individual Education Plans.
- Ability to demonstrate experience of using alternative communication systems with pupils e.g. Makaton, etc.
- Ability to demonstrate experience of leading and managing a team of classroom assistants effectively.
- Make a contribution to extra-curricular in EIPS
