Our work involves delivering
large scale infrastructure projects and frameworks within the utilities sectors
including, Power, Grid Support, FTTH/Fibre Networks, , water & gas. The
utilities division are NERS registered company within the ICP IDNO market
place.
Our portfolio
includes design management and execution of design and build contracts. The
scope of projects include enabling works, proving of existing infrastructure,
construction, commissioning and maintenance of utilities infrastructure including
Power Distributions & Transmission, Grid Support, Telecoms/Fibre Networks, Data

Role
The Business Development Manager will report directly
to the Directors and be responsible for the development and management of
marketing strategies, creating & maintaining strong networks & partnerships
with our existing client base and identifying new clients and opportunities,
and securing orders in line with a rolling 5 year business plan.
Based from our Belfast head office your role will
include travel and flexibility to deliver your goals and objectives.
You will be responsible for delivering the business
development plan and pre contract activities including marketing, networking,
estimating, bid formation and submission.
Success will be measured on agreeing & implementing
strategy, identifying and completing a procurement pipeline to successfully secure
orders fitting the business portfolio.
This role would suit someone who has a proven track
record in this field and wishes to develop with a successful growing business.
The ideal candidate would have a strong presence and understanding of the utilities sector with a particular focus on
grid support, network transformation, sustainability, NERS ICP/IDNO projects, and
multi disciplined specialist contracting.
Key Responsibilities
Key
responsibilities of the Business Development Manager include:

Assist with business development strategies for
short, medium and long term planning.

Identify key areas
of potential market share gain in the sector
·
Form the scope and take ownership of a marketing
plan.
·
Increase and
develop local brand awareness.
·
Create
and maintain a productive procurement pipeline.
·
Detail and undertake agile SWOT analysis of the market
place and influencing factors.
·
Maintain existing client relationships.
·
Create new clients and relationships.
·
Manage opportunities through an approval process with
internal stakeholders.
·
Oversee bid formation
and submissions.
·
Track submission
progress.
·
Create contract
information guidance and hand over to delivery teams.
·
Deliver regular
progress reports to the Directors.
·
Identify innovations to enhance the business profile and create new
business streams.
Essential
·
Proven track record in winning utilities contracts.
·
Able to demonstrate experience of contract
procurement in the Power Industry.
·
Currently/recently working in the UK utility/grid
support sector.
·
Full clean UK driving license.
·
Enthusiasm and
ability to engage with all internal and external stakeholders.
·
Excellent
organisational skills, goal setting and achievement.
·
Strong proficiency
in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical analysis software
·
Ability to prepare
and deliver internal and external presentations.
·
Ability to adapt
communication skills in order to capture specific audiences.
·
Ability to promote
brand awareness and communicate the company’s purpose, vision and values.
·
Ability to
communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members
and customers, in a clear and concise manner.
·
Effective planning
and ability to compile monthly and annual reports.
Preferred
·
Demonstrate experience operating in the NERS
ICP/IDNO market space.
·
Demonstrate additional expertise in the ROI market
space.
·
Demonstrate a good knowledge of UK/ROI government
and private investment strategies.
