Salary £49,000 plus shift allowance (£5,000+)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Shift Manager is responsible for all aspects relating to the performance of the team on shift. They will lead, organize and co-ordinate a team to create an environment which encourages superior performance in terms of quality and productivity. Shift working to cover a variety of patterns will be required including afternoon, night and weekend shift.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitor, control and regulate to ensure production schedules are achieved within cost parameters.
- Maintain effective employee relations within the team.
- Monitor and control contract costs in line with the annual operating plan.
- Ensure that customer specifications are achieved in line with desired cost values.
- Ensure agreement on programme constraints with the Production Manager.
- Ensure a disciplined approach to housekeeping and promote a safe working environment.
- Develop an environment of continuous improvement.
- Achieve targets aimed at the continuous development of people.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

- Candidates must have a minimum of an HNC in an engineering / business discipline or possess a NVQ Level 3 in Supervisory Management or equivalent and have a minimum of 1 years’ experience at a leadership / supervisory / management level within an operations, functional or engineering environment.
OR
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an operations, functional or engineering environment with at least one year at a leadership / supervisory / management level.
