Finance Assistant: Belfast
Temporary (6 + months) | Full-time | £13.89 an hour | Office-based |
REED Accountancy is delighted to be working in partnership with an established manufacturing company based in Belfast in the appointment of a Finance Assistant to join their dynamic team on a 6-month temporary basis.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful Finance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial documents.
Role and responsibilities:
- Invoice Management: Print and process purchase ledger invoices, verifying invoices against purchase orders and stock records.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with various departments to follow up on outstanding invoices and resolve queries to ensure timely payments.
- Accounts Payable Administration: Manage the Accounts Payable inbox, provide remittance advice to suppliers, and respond promptly to supplier inquiries.
- Payment Authorisation: Ensure all payments are authorised in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Bank Reconciliations: Assist with banking reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Journal Entries: Post journal entries accurately and efficiently.
- Spreadsheet Management: Update and maintain Excel spreadsheets for financial tracking and reporting.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts and maintain Accounts Payable Excel workbooks.
- Audit Facilitation: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Payment Processing: Process payments and income efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Financial Analysis: Assist with the completion of quarterly financial analysis and provide ad hoc analysis as requested
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Relevant accounts payable experience working in a busy Finance department
- Proven competency in complex Excel spreadsheets including analysis and management of large volumes of data
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics Grade C and above (or equivalent)
- Experience in month end processes
- Excellent interpersonal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate and competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
