In the past 5 years, we have diversified our information technology team abroad seeking talented individuals in the UK with the opening of our Belfast office.
The Frontline Insurance UK team brings new technologies and insights to the US market with a focus on data science and machine learning, data analytics, platform development, and project management to augment Frontline Insurance's operations and competitiveness in the US Insurance Industry.
The Role
We’re looking for an IT Support Engineer who’s keen to kick off their career in tech. This role is perfect for someone with good IT knowledge, and a willingness to learn. You'll start by providing essential IT support to our internal teams and gradually grow into a DevOps Engineer role over time.
You’ll be part of a supportive and highly technical environment where you’ll receive mentorship, on-the-job training, and increasing responsibilities as you build your skills.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Support
- Build, configure and deploy laptops for new and existing employees.
- Provide first-line and second-line support for common IT issues including Windows, Linux, networking, printing, building access control, and CCTV.
- Use an IT ticketing system (Jira) to log and manage support requests.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across laptops, VMs and other client runtimes.
- Patch operating systems and software to ensure security compliance.
- Track and manage hardware and software inventory.
- Help maintain internal documentation and create knowledge base articles.
- Work with 3rd party vendors and providers.
DevOps – Career Growth
As you develop your technical capabilities, you’ll begin to take on more advanced DevOps responsibilities, including:
- Supporting production-level platforms, integrations and deployments.
- Diagnosing and resolving platform issues from a Jira board.
- Working with AWS cloud services.
- Scripting (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python).
- Troubleshooting and querying logs using tools such as Athena, Cloudwatch OpenSearch.
- Administering and maintaining production monitoring and alerting systems.
- Collaborating with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams.
General:

Person Specification:
- Some previous experience in an IT support or helpdesk environment
- Good understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with an IT ticketing system (e.g. Jira)
- Willingness to learn and grow into a DevOps role
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good communicator and team player
- Interest in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS)
- A passion for technology and continuous learning.
- Strong communication and documentation skills
