The Board of Governors of St
Patrick’s Grammar School, Armagh invites applications for the following post
commencing 1 September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter:
PRINCIPAL
The Board of Governors seeks to
appoint a dynamic, forward-thinking, child-centred leader who has a clear,
track record both of ensuring that all pupils achieve their full potential, and
of leading and managing staff in the continuous pursuit of professional
excellence.

It is anticipated that the
successful candidate will take up post as Principal in September 2025 (or as
soon as possible thereafter).
Applicants
for the post must, at commencement of appointment:
- Hold a teaching qualification, which meets the
requirements to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland;
Have been employed in the post-primary sector or
related area for at least 8 years in the last 11 years, i.e. since 1 September
2014; and
Currently hold or have held at least 4 Teaching Allowances in
a Senior Leadership capacity at whole school level for a minimum of three years
in the last seven years.
The successful leader should have:
a
clear commitment to Catholic education;
an
exciting vision for our all-ability, boys, voluntary grammar school;
a
demonstrable record of successful, strategic leadership in school improvement
in the post-primary sector or related area;
a
proven record of building and sustaining supportive relationships within a school
and the wider community;
experience
of strategic leadership and management of a successful change process at whole
school level; and
experience
of effective and efficient leadership of school systems and processes.
