I am excited to partner with a renowned employer in Lisburn to recruit a talented and ambitious Payroll Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees across the business.
Your new role
Working within the existing team, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for a variety of duties, including:
- Overseeing the delivery, processing, and approval of weekly and monthly payroll.
- Managing the payroll department's workload to ensure tasks are completed accurately and promptly.
- Undertaking projects to review payroll systems, controls, and processes, presenting opportunities for continuous improvements, streamlining, and cost savings to the HR Director, and implementing them accordingly.
- Collaborating with HR Management to coordinate and implement Group Payroll services.
- Taking responsibility for annual tasks such as life assurance and health cash plan renewals, PAYE settlement, P11d submissions, salary reviews, and annual leave entitlements.
- Liaising with third-party payroll providers, insurance brokers, health cash plan providers, and pension providers, acting as the main point of contact for escalation of issues and queries.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience at a supervisory level within a payroll function in a medium to large business. They should possess a demonstrable understanding of employer payroll, compliance, and pension obligations, along with knowledge of Payroll, HR, and Time & Attendance systems.
