Slieve Gullion Seasonal General Attendant
Rate: £13.21 per hour
Hours: 30 hours per week
Core hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm over 3 days (including 1 weekend
day) and 1 half day.
It’s a 30-hour contract (weather dependent) with the possibility of
working up to 36 hrs at peak times.
Key Duties:
To supervise the public ensuring the safe and orderly usage of facilities.
The post involves working evenings, weekends and public holidays and involves basic grounds maintenance, traffic management, waste management, customer service and cash collection.
The post is primarily based at Slieve Gullion but, from time to time, the post holder may be required to assist at Kilbroney Park and Camlough Lake. Mileage will apply for distances greater than the return journey to Slieve Gullion Forest Park.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Instruct and supervise public at all times ensuring safe and orderly usage and visitor satisfaction is maintained.
-The prevention of unauthorised activities and compliance with Management procedures and Council Bye-Laws.
-To collect and ensure the safety of monies in accordance with procedures, and to disseminate information and prepare and maintain records/reports.
- To report defects and undertake general maintenance, cleaning duties, security/safety checks and emergency action/repairs.
-To open and close the facilities or premises ensuring they are maintained in a suitable condition.
-To operate and use a range of tools, power tools and plant.
-To administer First-aid as appropriate.
-To ensure that Corporate policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Qualifications:
GCSE passes (Grades A – C) in both English Language and Maths or equivalent.
PLUS
-At least 6 months relevant experience in a customer facing role working with the public.
OR (in lieu of GCSE passes)
-At least 1 year’s relevant experience in a customer facing role working with the public.
-At least 6 months’ previous experience of cash handling and keeping associated records in a work environment.
-Previous experience working in an outdoor manual handling role?
