My Client based BT5 area of Belfast is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Sales Ledger Administrator. Reporting to the Company Accountant, this varied role will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience across all areas of the Sales Ledger and Credit Control function and become an integral part of their finance team.

In this role, you will play a key part in resolving customer account queries directly and liaise with other departments as part of the resolution process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate incoming payments to customer accounts.
  • Daily cashbook update and bank reconciliation.
  • Preparation of Bank Lodgements.
  • Preparation of Direct Debit files.
  • Issuing invoices, credit notes and customer statements.
  • Assist with Month-end close.
  • Monitor and manage outstanding customer balances, ensuring timely follow-up and collection.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
  • Track and document all communication regarding payments and credit with customers.
  • Setting up new customers. Updating and maintenance of customer caster file.
  • Various other duties as required for cover and support, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented approach.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial transactions, essential in delivering the high standards our customers expect.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills; confident in building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new processes quickly, with a keen interest in professional growth.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a dedicated team.

Hours of work & benefits:

  • 36hr pw: Mon-Thu 9am-5pm & Fri 9am-4:45pm
  • Salary £25-26k pa

  • 24 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days per year
