Our manufacturing client based in South Down
is currently seeking a HSEQ Manager to join the team.
The successful HSEQ Manager will devise
and implement proactive strategies that influence and drive quality standards and
ensure health and safety compliance throughout company.
This role is suitable for an experienced
HSEQ Manager OR a Senior Quality Engineer looking to take the next step in
their career. The company are willing to put the successful candidate through
NEBOSH training.
Responsibilities:
QUALITY:
·
Identify, communicate and implement
opportunities for continuous improvement and measure their effectiveness.
·
Contribute to executive policy and strategy.
·
Develop, manage and coordinate quality and
environmental management systems and processes in accordance with ISO 9001 and
ISO 14001 quality standards ensuring successful accreditation.
·
Improve upon the current QMS using a 6 Sigma
approach to problem solving and statistical process control (SPC) to monitor,
control and improve processes.
·
Develop and maintain rigorous systems for internal
auditing and identifying non-compliances, report on same and ensure
improvements/preventative measures identified are actioned on a timely basis.
·
Prevent quality problems by understanding the
process and specification and introduce stability and uniformity with reference
to product quality.
·
Ensure a customer driven approach to delivering
conforming product and add value by proactively managing non-conformances or
complaints.
·
Manage the supply chain “quality” function to
include developing and implementing goods inward quality inspection processes.
·
Conduct audits, to include site visits as
necessary, of supplier’s quality systems and processes in order to support the
procurement team in developing strong partnerships with critical suppliers.
·
Liaise with customers and suppliers where
necessary on matters impacting/affected by quality issues
HEALTH
& SAFETY
·
Assume overall responsibility for health and
safety and set and maintain systems and standards to ensure that all current Health
& Safety statutory and company best practice requirements are met
throughout the company.
·
Ensure that all employees are inducted, trained
and validated in all aspects of their positions’ requirements, to allow them to
perform their functions safely and efficiently.
·
Ensure all employees are provided with correct
Personal Protective Equipment for the role and that the use of issued equipment
whilst working is mandatory.
· Ensure all incidents to include personal
injury, hazards and near misses are recorded and investigated with
corrective/preventative action taken as necessary.
· Ensure that First Aid facilities are
available and that First Aiders are trained, as required.
· Ensure that adequate Fire precautions are in
place such as fire drills, extinguishers, clear exits etc.
· Carry out risk / hazard assessments and
ensure the implementation of any resultant actions.
· Carry out all noise assessment surveying and
reporting.
·
Reporting
and liaison on matters of health and safety with relevant external bodies.
Criteria:
·
Previous quality experience at senior level within
a manufacturing / engineering environment OR relevant experience in a HSEQ role
·
Detail-oriented and the ability to provide high
levels of accuracy in all work.
·
Proven ability to work well as a member of a team,
as well as the ability to work independently.
