Paralegal, Belfast, £25-30k D.O.E. Our
client has established itself as the fastest growing electric vehicle charging
network, providing solutions for EV drivers in Northern Ireland.
They currently wish to recruit a paralegal for their in-house legal
department on a contract basis for three months.
Overall, the Legal Assistant plays a vital role in helping the legal
department function efficiently by providing support in various legal and
administrative functions, allowing the Legal Counsel to focus on more complex
legal matters. This position contributes to ensuring legal compliance, document
management, and effective communication with external parties to meet the
company's legal needs.
Responsibilities:
Working
under the instruction of the company’s Legal Counsel, the candidate will be
responsible for a wide variety of duties, to include:
• Conducting searches (including Land Registry searches) and
assisting with the Land Registry registrations.
• Assisting in the creation and drafting of various legal
documents, such as leases and commercial agreements, in accordance with the
company's needs and legal standards.
• Communicating with external parties, including solicitors, law
searchers, and mappers.
• Efficiently managing both electronic and hard copy legal files,
ensuring documents are organised and easily accessible when needed.
Handling phone calls professionally, accurately recording
messages, and promptly conveying important information to the appropriate
individuals within the company.
• Providing general administrative support to the legal
department, which may include tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing
calendars, and preparing legal documents.
• Assisting with any other administrative duties and tasks as
required by the Legal Counsel and the legal department to ensure the effective
operation of legal processes within the company.
Ideally the candidate will have the following:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a law firm
• Experience with Land Registry searches and registrations
(England, Northern Ireland and Wales)
• Experienced with formatting/reformatting of legal documentation
• Ability to handle own workload under supervision, and to work to
set deadlines and service levels.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Organised, methodical and strong attention to detail
