Client:
Our client is a leading offsite construction and modular building specialist. They have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a costing service at tender and pre-construction stage for customer and clients using conquest estimating software.
• Ensure that estimates prepared are cost effective and competitive within the sector.
• Identify and manage risk to avoid cost overruns
• Manage the procurement process for all sub-contractors and suppliers
• Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
• Ensure that potential cost saving opportunities are explored without comprising quality
• Price variations and extras during each contract before work proceeds
• Collate all final costs and prepare final bill for each project.
• Liaise with Commercial and Contracts management regularly on widening pool of sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Review and monitor project costs versus budgets on Conquest.
• Work with the wide team to effectively represent and grow the business and contribute to the culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Promote and ensure a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with SHE Policies and Procedures.
• Carry out other duties that are consistent with the job holder’s knowledge and skills to assist the company in achieving its goals and objectives.

The Ideal Person:

• Possess a relevant 3rd level qualification.
• Previous estimating experience with a main contractor or construction company.
• Ability to negotiate and influence outcomes, internally and externally.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent time management, project planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to innovate, problem solve and adapt to changing client requirements.
