VANRATH is delighted to be working on behalf of a global leading professional services company to recruit a Security Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join a high-performing global security engineering team and take responsibility for safeguarding sensitive data from loss or exposure.
About the Role:
As a Security DLP Engineer, you will be responsible for protecting the firm’s sensitive data from loss or exposure. Working closely with technical peers, you will ensure the effectiveness of current DLP tools, manage tool capacity planning, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will also partner with business owners to ensure that technical standards align with the firm’s data protection strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Protect the firm and client-sensitive data from potential loss or exposure.
Develop, implement, and administer firmwide DLP policies.
Perform analysis and triage of DLP policy violations and incidents.
Provide executive-level reporting on DLP incidents.
Collaborate with technical peers to develop and refine the firm’s overall data loss prevention strategy.
Skills and Experience Required:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
Certifications such as Microsoft SC-400, AZ-500, MS-900, or CISSP are preferred.
Extensive experience with enterprise DLP technologies, including Microsoft Purview, M365, and Proofpoint.
Proficiency in DLP policy development and management, with the ability to write, configure, and develop policies to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with End-User Behaviour Analytics (EUBA) and Insider Risk Management processes and tools.
Proven experience in analysing and responding to DLP alerts and incidents, collaborating with the Incident Response team for remediation.
Strong knowledge of data classification methodologies and associated compliance frameworks.
An understanding of security DLP best practices and frameworks, including GDPR, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
Strong technical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve issues related to DLP endpoint and cloud technologies.
Ability to stay current with the latest advancements in DLP technologies and continuously improve and optimise DLP policies.
Strong analytical skills to assess data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to improve data protection measures.
Ability to maintain critical thinking and composure under pressure.
Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
