VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our major Public Sector client, a large and well-known organisation with the recruitment of an Economic Development Manager to join their team based in Newtownabbey.

This is a Full-Time Monday-Friday position. Temporary contract expected to last for a minimum of 6 months.

Salary

£49,620 + fantastic benefits in a modern organisation e.g. Flexi time, free parking & excellent modern offices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of economic development strategies and regeneration initiatives.
  • Support efforts to attract new investment and create job opportunities.
  • Build effective partnerships with government agencies, local businesses, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the delivery of economic development programmes, including entrepreneurship support and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage budgets, contracts, and staff to ensure the effective delivery of services.
  • Promote and market regeneration and investment sites within the borough.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support local economic growth.
  • Lead efforts to develop collaborative economic initiatives with regional and external bodies.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management and ensure alignment with the organisation's goals.

Essential Criteria:

  • A relevant degree (e.g. Business, Economics, Urban Development, Town Planning)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in economic development, investment or regeneration projects.
  • Proven experience in managing teams, budgets, and large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the business community and key stakeholders.
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A full, current driving license and access to a vehicle for travel.
