The Audit and Research Analyst role will support data-driven healthcare improvements. This role involves collating, analysing, and reporting clinical audit data, requiring collaboration with clinical staff to identify key datasets for local, national, and international analysis.

The successful candidate will develop grant applications for audit and research funding, ensuring financial support for critical studies. They will conduct timely and accurate analyses of registry clinical data, providing insights to clinical teams and responding to queries from stakeholders, including media, health trusts, and policymakers.

Keeping up to date with clinical audits the analyst will ensure appropriate data collection and international comparability. Additionally, they will present research findings and progress reports to internal teams, external organizations, and at national and international conferences.

A key responsibility includes preparing materials for publication in scientific journals. The analyst will support data quality assessments within the NICR, reviewing existing and new data sources. Developing strong collaborations with cancer epidemiologists and registry researchers across Ireland, the UK, and internationally is crucial.

The role also involves managing administrative tasks and developing grant applications. The analyst will maintain a personal work plan, oversee project activities, and engage with clinical teams to ensure effective data usage and feedback.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for clinical data analysis, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity leave.

About the person:

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Degree in a relevant clinical field or health-related subject.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience to include:
    • At least 2 years recent experience in analysing health related datasets.
    • Experience or significant involvement in national and/or international health data analysis.
  • Experience and proficiency in the use of statistical software such as R or Stata or equivalent.
