Role Overview:
As the HSE Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful implementation of safety and quality standards on construction projects. You will be responsible for overseeing Health, Safety, Environmental (SHE) and Quality Assurance (QA) practices, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures
- Regularly conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Investigate all accidents, near misses, and unsafe practices; prepare detailed reports and implement corrective actions
- Facilitate the completion and review of method statements and risk assessments
- Conduct site inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure they are fully briefed on safety protocols
- Coordinate training sessions related to SHEQ for employees to ensure the safe and effective execution of their roles
- Ensure documentation for SHEQ standards is up-to-date and aligned with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001/14001 certifications
- Support the development and maintenance of the SHEQ Management System
What We’re Looking For:
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001/18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards and their implementation
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry
- Proactive approach with excellent communication and organisational skills
