September with the possibility to increase to 36 hours at peak periods e.g.
summer holidays/July & August. Hours are 4pm to 8/9pm over 4 days which
includes Saturday & Sunday.

Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary
To supervise the public ensuring the safe and orderly usage of
facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Instruct and supervise public at all times ensuring safe and
orderly usage and visitor satisfaction is maintained.
2. The prevention of unauthorized activities and compliance with
Management procedures and Council Bye-Laws.
3. To collect and ensure the safety of monies in accordance with
procedures, and to disseminate information and prepare and maintain
records/reports.
4. To report defects and undertake general maintenance, cleaning
duties, security/safety checks and emergency action/repairs.
5. To open and close the facilities or premises ensuring they
are maintained in a suitable condition.
6. To operate and use a range of tools, power tools and plant.
7. To administer First-aid as appropriate.
8. To ensure that Corporate policies and procedures are adhered
to at all times.
9. Collection of car park entry fees, issuing season permits,
traffic management
10. Litter picking, emptying bins & ensuring facility is
kept to an acceptable standard.
11. General customer service.
Essential
- GCSE passes in both English and Maths & at least 6 months
relevant experience in customer facing role with the public OR in lieu of GCSE at least 1 year relevant experience in customer facing role
- at least 6 months previous experience of cash handling and
associated records in work environment
- Must be available to work April to September including evenings, weekends, public holidays
- Basic Access NI on offer
- Candidate would need to be confident using a handheld device as they will be issuing parking permits to local park users, inputting peoples details on the system, and recording information for parking permits.
Desirable -
Awareness of Health and Safety issues involved in working with
the public and Manual Handling.
Ability to work unsupervised and under own initiative.
A current recognised First Aid certificate (i.e. British Red
Cross, St Johns Ambulance, Order of Malta) or work towards qualification.
