I am representing a well-established, family-run business in the Belfast area that is seeking to recruit a Senior Bookkeeper to report directly to the Managing Director. Your new role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for a variety of key duties, including:
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Preparing Year End Audit papers
- Supervising the Accounts Administrator
- Maintaining the sales ledger, purchase ledger, and nominal ledger mapping, including reports, reconciliations, and month-end processing
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Processing weekly and monthly payroll, including maintaining all regulatory pension provisions
- Handling NI & RoI VAT and statutory returns, including EC Sales List and Arrival/Dispatches Intrastat submissions
- Filing all ONS returns
- Overseeing credit control
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience. Ideal candidates will be proficient in accounting software, the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and other office management tools. We are seeking individuals with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
