IT Systems Engineer (Cloud / Storage Experience)

My client provides managed IT and cybersecurity services to customers all over the globe. As they continue to grow their client base, they are looking for a seasoned Systems Engineer with experience in Cloud, Storage and Backup to join the team. This critical role involves enhancing the availability, performance, and security of customer systems and applications through effective maintenance strategies, standardised configurations, and comprehensive data protection measures.

*2 days on site in Belfast City Centre is essential. Hours 10am - 6pm, Monday - Friday*

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and configure maintenance plans for client Microsoft Azure and Windows environments.
  • Validate backup and data protection solutions.
  • Coordinate, test, and improve disaster recovery strategies.
  • Perform access control audits, including Azure and on-premise Active Directory management.
  • Ensure continuous system monitoring for capacity and availability.
  • Oversee OS patching and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver consistent and high-quality client experiences worldwide.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.
  • Contribute to the cloud platform roadmap and stay updated on industry advancements.

What you'll need:

  • Extensive experience with IT technologies, cloud computing, networking, and user device management, particularly with Microsoft Azure, Windows, Office 365, VMware, and Citrix.
  • Hands-on experience with patch management solutions, whether Microsoft or third-party tools such as Ivanti or similar remote monitoring and management (RMM) platforms.
  • Familiarity with data protection and backup solutions such as Microsoft Azure, VEEAM, Rubrik, and Zerto.
  • Background in proactive maintenance within an event management, monitoring, or engineering team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an approachable and professional demeanor.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional managed services.
  • Ambitious, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment, both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in information technology or a related field.
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
    • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
    • VMware Certified Professional
    • Data protection certification
