Higher Psychologist - Belfast

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our client, based in Belfast as a full-time Higher Psychologist (Staff Officer grade).

Rate of pay: £17.94 per hour

Location: Causeway Exchange, Belfast

Hours: 37 Mon-Fri 9am-5pm ( part-time hours may be considered )

Duration: 6 months

Start Date: ASAP

Job Duties:

The post-holder will be employed within the Work Psychology Team; a branch within the Work and Wellbeing Division of The Department for Communities.

The post-holder's main duties and responsibilities will focus on enhancing the Work Coaches' role in Jobs & Benefits Offices to build their capacity to deliver early, intensive and constructive support to the Department's customers with health related and other barriers to work.

The post-holder will also utilise their experience and skills in Occupational Psychology to develop, support and evaluate employability programmes; deliver organisational development and human resource solutions to assist performance across the Department and wider NICS; and to engage with external partners within the health and work sector to build working relationships and develop signposting routes for customers.

The duties and responsibilities of the post-holders are likely to evolve as the Department further develops its approach to addressing economic inactivity. The post holder will work in a blended home/work model.

There will be a combination of face to face and remote support to allocated offices, along with attendance at the Work Psychology team office approximately two days per month.

Essential Criteria applicants must have:

At least a second-class degree in Psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society and a Master’s degree in Occupational Psychology.

The successful applicant will be required to complete an Access NI during registration
