Council
Member (Trustee)
Ulster
University
The Council
of Ulster University is seeking to appoint new Council Members to play an
active role as charity trustees on its governing body, with appointments being
made for an initial period of four years.
As the
governing body of the University, the Council works in collaboration with the
Vice-Chancellor and his Executive Team to set the tone for leadership culture
across the institution and to provide oversight in the delivery of the
University’s strategy - People, Place and Partnership. It is a rich and
stimulating environment with significant personal and professional development
opportunities available to the successful candidates.
As a Council
Member, you will support the Council in providing sound governance oversight
and strategic direction to the University. You will also have the opportunity
to contribute to the work of at least one of the Council’s core Committees and
to attend/participate in many wider aspects of University life.
The
University is seeking exceptional candidates with proven experience in the
management/governance of a public, private, community or voluntary sector
organisation and with relevant experience across one or more of a range of
specialist areas. A passion for the higher education sector in the UK, and an
appreciation of national and international issues of relevance to the operation
of the University, would also be beneficial to your application.
