Job Description
You will be responsible for front line customer service duties in a mobile capacity around the different locations on the rail network. You will be expected to deliver passenger information/communication, issue tickets, deal with and resolve complaints and assist in delivering a high class and punctual rail service. A core part of the role will entail revenue protection and you will assist conductors and carry out customer service operator duties when this is required. You will be expected to cover full Station duties where there is a vacancy in the roster to cover absence. You must also comply with the relevant rules and regulations within a Railway environment and conform to health and safety legislation.
Essential Criteria
- A minimum of GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or alternatively be able to demonstrate at least 2 years relevant experience in a similar post.
- A minimum of 2 years face to face experience in a customer service environment with experience of cash handling.
- Experience of dealing with difficult customer complaints and customer enquiries.
- Experience of adhering to Health & Safety rules.
- Experience of report writing in a work environment.
- Ability to work shifts including early, late, weekends and Public Holidays.
- Aged 18 or over (in order to obtain a Personal Track Safety Certificate).
Desirable Criteria
- A minimum of 3 years face to face experience in a customer service environment with experience of cash handling.
