2nd Line Support Engineer

MCS Group is partnering with a rapidly developing Industry Provider to find a Technical Services Engineer to join their growing IT team in Magherafelt.

The Role:

As a Technical Services Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and improving IT infrastructure across multiple sites. You’ll be working with Microsoft 365, on-prem and cloud servers, networking, and (a bespoke FM industry database).

This is a hands-on position where you’ll support 300+ staff across 5 depots, ensuring seamless IT operations while mentoring an apprentice and working closely with an MSP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing Microsoft 365 Admin, on-prem AD, and cloud migrations
• Troubleshooting networking issues, including firewalls, VPNs, and communications cabinet rewiring
• Supporting Windows 10 & 11, Horizon Gamma VOIP system, and Fortinet firewalls & switches
• Work with the MSP to diagnose and resolve IT issues
• Providing technical support for remote workers (120 office staff + 200 field-based users)
• Assisting with bespoke mobile and client-based applications

What We’re Looking For:

• Proactive, self-starter with a strong background in IT infrastructure & networking
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, servers, and cloud-based environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to mentor junior staff
• Excellent communication & patience, supporting non-tech-savvy users
• Full driving license & access to a car (minimal travel required, but occasional site visits)
• Experience working in an MSP environment – highly desirable
