Assistant Accountant

Holywood (BT18)

Salary c.£35K - £40K

We are pleased to be working on behalf of a client with an immediate need for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their join their accounts team, reporting to the FC who in turn reports to the CFO.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small supportive team in a fast-paced environment and have the responsibility for preparing management accounts within a well-known Investment Company working with a number of companies across multiple portfolios, covering all aspects of property from commercial and retail development, commercial rental income and hospitality.

** This position offers Hybrid and Flexi working**

Key responsibilities:

· Reviewing and closing month end management accounts

· Producing monthly management accounts to include Profit & Loss Accounts, Balance Sheets and narrative on key movements / budget variances

· Assistance with updating cashflow models and forecasts

· Preparation of yearend financial accounts and audit packs and liaising with auditors across group audits

· VAT returns

· Reviewing monthly supplier payment runs

· Ad hoc project work and reporting.


Essential eligibility criteria:

· Recent experience in a fast-paced commercial accounting role

· Qualified Accounts Technician / Part Qualified Accountant

· Experience of preparing management accounts

· Experience in closing month end reporting and producing management reporting packs

· Experience in accounts packages (Xero)

· Excellent Excel skills (vlookups, sumif, pivot tables etc)

· Experience working in hospitality / hotel trade, or similar industry / trading business (Desirable)

· Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

· Good numeracy aptitude and keen eye for detail

· Time management and working towards tight deadlines

· Ability to work effectively both alone and in a team environment
