Senior Software Developer

MCS Group is partnering with an expanding organisation seeking a Senior Software Developer to contribute to their innovative journey. This hybrid role allows you to work from any of the company’s nationwide offices, developing and enhancing cutting-edge software solutions that drive business operations and client services.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable web applications using Laravel and React, ensuring high performance and security. You will manage GitHub repositories, write unit tests, and participate in code reviews to drive best practices. Using Docker, you’ll maintain consistent environments across development and production. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot software issues, and stay up to date with emerging technologies. A willingness to expand your skill set—such as learning C# for pensions calculations modelling—will be highly valued.

Requirements

Must-Have Experience:

• Expert-level proficiency in Laravel and React.
• Strong security implementation experience in a corporate environment.
• Proficiency in GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure Repos for version control.
• Hands-on experience with Docker for containerisation.
• Proven expertise in unit testing and RESTful API development.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure.
• Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

• C# and .NET framework experience.
• Familiarity with Jira for project management.
• Knowledge of security tools like OWASP and Snyk.
• CI/CD experience with Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• TypeScript, automated testing tools, and cloud-based deployment expertise.
