Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Finance will be responsible for leading the finance function, taking responsibility for management of a finance team, overall responsibility for monthly and yearly accounts preparation, and managing all banking relationships. If you are a Qualified Accountant with 5+ years’ experience of leading a finance team, ideally within an SME environment, this could be the ideal role.

This role is initially on a 6-month contract basis, however, the organisation will need someone on a long-term basis, and this has the opportunity to become permanent.

About you

• Qualified Accountant with 5+ years in senior leadership role
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal & external stakeholders
• Ability to influence and negotiate with senior management team
• A ‘hands-on’ manager, with an ability to be involved in the daily detail management skills
• Available at short notice

What you’ll do

• Daily oversight of finance team, ensuring all deliverables are met in line with agreed timescales
• Ownership of month end reporting process
• Preparation of financial models for rolling budgets, cashflow forecasts
• Preparing board reports and reporting to senior management team
• Managing relationships with banks and investors
• Overall ownership of business financials
