Business Development Manager- Sales Project Supervisor

Location: Belfast

Duration: Full Time Permanent position

Hours: 37 hours per week. 8.30am – 5pm Monday – Friday.

On behalf of our client, a Top Northern Ireland service provider and award-winning employer, we are have an exciting new opportunity for an individual with previous experience in Business to Business Sales or experience in the Natural Gas Industry.

The main purpose of this role is to sell the features and benefits of Natural Gas to energy users operating within the industrial and commercial sector.

The jobholder will attend appointments with new customer enquiries, make introductory calls to business users not currently using natural gas and facilitate new business customer’s connections to the natural gas network within company guidelines.

In carrying out these duties it may be necessary to ascertain the current fuel uses, introduce the concept of Natural Gas, establish the potential uses of Natural Gas and make recommendations to the owner/operator on equipment, conversion and running costs including anticipated payback periods.

The Sales Project Supervisor will advise customers on the safety and other technical aspects of installation and to recommend, where appropriate, suitable installation companies and equipment manufacturers who are capable of converting the customer’s installations to use Natural Gas.

Additionally, the jobholder will be required to undertake key projects to support wider objectives across the Sales directorate.

The post holder will also:

· Respond to inbound Sales leads and complete Gas Connection Agreements within company guidelines and manage the connection through the appropriate channels, ensuring associated paperwork is of an appropriately high standard to ensure the application can be administered effectively within regulated standards of service.

· Prospect for customers within a defined area or customer sector, using information provided from within the Company’s database and/or cold calling, in order to ensure all potential business is identified.

· In order to persuade customers of the advantages of gas, and to successfully complete the sale, it may be necessary to advise and arrange for a third party where appropriate to provide a technical solution to a wide range of heating and hot water systems.

· To conduct feasibility studies and prepare specifications to inform potential customers of the financial, environmental, and other benefits Natural Gas can provide.

· To supply and keep updated, timely and accurate job information, financial information and market intelligence to assist in the provision of management information and in the Marketing planning process.

· To support the Site Works process by providing relevant input into post connections activity such as meter resizing and reconnections.

· To develop relationships within the sector that allow the organisation to have a high level understanding of wider trends and activity within the Greater Belfast I&C Marketplace.

· To oversee strategic projects within the wider Sales department to support key company objectives

Essential criteria:

· A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the Natural Gas industry OR 3 years’ experience in B2B Sales.

· Comprehensive IT skills including ability to use Microsoft Office packages including Excel.

· Excellent presentation skills.

· Excellent communication and negotiating skills.

· Ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative.

· Full Driving Licence.

· Please note this is a permanent role and applicants will need to be eligible to work in t he UK on a permanent basis.

What you can expect:

Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum starting salary dependant on experience plus 6 – 9% annual bonus. There is also a car with this position.
