VANRATH is delighted to be working with a well-established non-profit organisation to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to become part of a well-established finance team. This role will initially be on a contract basis until June 25 with potential for extension. Recently named in the top 100 UK workplaces this is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable employer.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Financial Controller, You will be a proactive and organised individual, who thrives as part of a fast-paced environment and who is a keen team player. You will be a problem solver, have a good attention to detail, be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and be comfortable handling invoices and customer queries with confidence and professionalism.

You will have responsibility for the following:

  • Raise purchase orders and ensure procurement rules are adhered to
  • Process and pay supplier invoices on a weekly / monthly basis
  • Process all customer invoicing
  • Daily posting of bank receipts / payments
  • Assist employees with procurement queries
  • Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
  • Appropriately file electronic documents
  • Respond to queries from customers and suppliers
  • Provide general administrative and financial support when required

About You

At least two year’s work experience in a similar role.

  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Effective IT skills including experience working with Office 365 elements such as MS Word, MS Teams, SharePoint etc.
  • Effective MS Excel skills including creating basic formulas.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, confidently and in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to adapt and to learn new skills. Desirable Criteria
