Senior Fraud Solicitor – (Hybrid)
We are working with a leading UK and Ireland law firm to offer an exciting opportunity for a leadership role, overseeing a specialised team of lawyers focused on client-driven outcomes. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of predominantly High Court matters while supervising a team of handlers and assistants, ensuring the highest technical standards through ongoing supervision and peer review.
Key responsibilities include leading and growing the Fraud Team, strengthening client relationships, and driving business development initiatives to expand the team’s capabilities. The role also involves mentoring and developing team members, engaging with senior claims professionals, and enhancing both personal and firm-wide reputation within the sector.
The Senior Fraud Lawyer will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of counter-fraud strategies, overseeing training and supervision, and providing key insights to senior stakeholders. Additionally, they will support efficient case progression, identify cases suitable for specialist handling, and contribute to the development of best practice guidelines for fraud litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement case strategies to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
- Continuously assess evidence throughout the case, adjusting strategy as necessary.
- Identify and escalate cases that require complex consideration or referral.
- Ensure all counter-fraud cases are properly flagged on Tracker to capture accurate data on fraud instructions, case conversions, fraud types, and fraud savings.
- Supervise and review the work of all team handlers, delegating tasks to ensure assistants meet chargeable hours targets.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to meet their strategic objectives.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction for all cases handled by your team, while maintaining compliance with both internal and client SLAs.
- Guarantee accurate and timely completion of client and internal management information.
- Meet both client and internal KPIs.
- Work to improve fraud kick-out rates, while raising the profile of the Northern Ireland Counter-Fraud team.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the team to ensure objectives & financial targets are met.
- Contribute to the recruitment and probation process as the team grows.
Core Competencies and Experience:
- Proven handling authority of at least £100,000 and experience in supervising and developing team members.
- Strong client relationship-building abilities and experience in client care.
- Skilled at prioritising work, meeting deadlines, and working under pressure.
- Experienced in managing non-delegated counter-fraud cases with authority aligned to the work.
- Effective team leader with ability to analyse trends, create strategies, and deliver market-leading results.
