The Recruitment Co are currently working with a Public Health Service in recruiting for a Stock Buyer.
JOB SUMMARY
The Stock Buyer will contribute to ensuring that PaLS HSC customers are supported by a robust and efficient supply chain. He/she will be responsible for managing and maintaining a specific portfolio of stock products, maintaining optimum inventory levels in accordance with the stock holding strategies and manage the timely re- order of goods in excess of £50 million per annum.
Service Delivery
- Ensure those laid down policies and ISO procedures in respect to Stock Management are carried out to maintain appropriate stock levels in line with Customer Service and Budget Agreements and Financial Management criteria.
- Closely monitor stock holding for a selected range of commodity group to achieve agreed service levels while maintaining target monetary investment in stock
- Review and refresh the Daily Stock Check Report in line with Supplier lead times and warehouse capacity and raise orders in line with the Supplier Fixed Intake Schedule.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILTIES
- Review individually, at least annually, the performance of immediately subordinate staff, provides guidance on personal development requirements and advises on and initiates, where appropriate, further training.
- Maintain staff relationships and morale amongst the staff reporting to him/her.
- Review the organisation plan and establishment level of the service for which he/she is responsible to ensure that each is consistent with achieving objectives, and recommend change where appropriate.

Experience/Qualifications
Have at least GCSE Maths and GCSE English (A-C) OR equivalent qualification to demonstrate Literacy and numeracy
AND
Two A Levels or equivalent qualification OR higher qualification
AND
Have 18 months’ procurement or logistical experience OR
Have at least three years (in the last ten)
procurement or logistical experience within an
organisation’s supply chain function.
