Honeycomb is delighted to be assisting a large public sector client with the immediate uptake of Senior Cemetries administrator 6month+ based in Belfast City Centre
The Role: To be responsible to the Bereavement Administration Manager, whilst responding to enquiries and complaints from the public and representatives of the bereavement industry; providing practical advice and front-line customer care and support in a sympathetic manner.
Reporting to the overall Bereavement Administration Manager duties include:
- To provide cover for crematorium and cemeteries site offices as required
- To deputise for the Bereavement Administration Manager.
- To deal with counter/ telephone enquiries from funeral directors, general public etc.
- To book, record and process statutory documentation for burials and crematoriums in a tactful manner.
- To check and amend, if necessary, completed cremation forms and are presented daily to the Medical Referee for authority to cremate.
- To update and maintain both electronic and manual records in relation to a variety of graveyards and crematorium.
- To allocate memorial trees and record associated burial details.
- To prepare Grave Leases, process Duplicate Lease applications after approval and issue grave depth letters.
- To prepare lists of medical certificate notifications for registration purposes.
- To accept payments for burials, prepare lodgements and assist with the reconciliations of accounts on a monthly basis.
- The Person: This role requires a candidate with suitable experience and professional manner to deal with a highly sensitive task orientation. As well as being able to communicate effectively with people of different cultural backgrounds and to deal sensitively and tactfully with members of the public and others in times of personal stress and grief.
Experience: The suited candidate should possess at least 1 years’ experience surrounding the following:
- Working in a professional bereavement services environment.
- Undertaking administrative and cash handling duties and using information technology such as Microsoft Office, or equivalent packages.
- Supervising staff on a daily basis including programming workloads.
