Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Newtownards

Salary: £28,407 - £34,581 per annum (Band 5)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: Temporary, Full-time

On behalf of our client, Apple Recruitment Services are seeking a Finance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to contribute to financial management within the healthcare sector.

Job Summary:

• Assist with annual budget setting, ensuring alignment with the Trust's financial strategy.

• Support development of efficiency plans, recovery plans, and corrective actions to ensure financial stability.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems, reporting tools, and methods.

• Provide financial reports and analysis for decision-making, and handle ad hoc enquiries.

• Assist with audit requirements and the implementation of audit recommendations.

  Key Responsibilities:

• Support budget setting, monitoring, and reporting processes.

• Produce financial reports to inform corporate decision-making.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cost control and accurate reporting.

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the Trust.

• Ensure compliance with financial management policies, standards, and audits.

  Essential Criteria:

• University degree and 2 years of relevant financial experience OR

• AAT/HND qualified with 2 years of relevant experience OR

• Part-qualified with a CCAB recognised body and 1 year of relevant experience OR

• 3 years of relevant financial experience at Band 4 level.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles (accruals, prepayments, etc.).

• A driving license and access to a car.

  Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in management accounts and variance analysis.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
