Exciting Opportunity for a Production/Design Engineer

MCS Group are delighted to be working on a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production/Design Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team. This company is dedicated to innovation, consistently investing in the development of new products and manufacturing solutions.

As a Production/Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and optimising products, ensuring they are manufactured efficiently and meet the highest quality standards.

You Will:

  • Design and develop detailed drawings and 3D models, taking concepts through to production.
  • Re-design existing products for enhanced manufacturability, incorporating the latest fabrication methods.
  • Develop jigs and fixtures to improve production efficiency.
  • Support manufacturing and operations teams by driving continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Produce accurate manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials to support production.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements.
  • Define and document internal engineering standards and procedures.
  • Manage engineering change requests in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

You Will Have:

  • A degree in an Engineering-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 year's experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in sheet metal CAD modeling.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent IT proficiency and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and methodical approach, with a passion for engineering and innovation.

Desirable Experience:

  • Proficiency in Solid Works.
  • Knowledge of Type Approval standards.
  • Experience with automation in manufacturing.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
