Job Title: Make Ready Support Worker
Salary: £22,816 (Band 3)
Location: Bangor
Hours: 30 hours per week, 24/7 work pattern (including shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays)
Duration: Temporary, 6 months
On behalf of our client, Apple Recruitment Services are seeking a Make Ready Support Worker to join a dynamic team within the Environmental & Vehicle Cleanliness (EVC) department. This role is crucial in ensuring that ambulances and equipment are decontaminated, maintained, and fully prepared for operational use, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both staff and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure environmental cleanliness within the designated work area
Clean, decontaminate, and re-stock ambulances to agreed quality standards
Perform vehicle roadworthiness checks and ensure all onboard medical and non-medical equipment is functional and in good repair
Conduct Vehicle Daily Inspections (VDIs), reporting any defects for necessary repairs
Manage waste disposal and stock replenishment following policy guidelines
Liaise effectively with supervisors, ambulance crews, and other team members to ensure service delivery is continuous
Contribute to cleanliness audits and ongoing improvements
Essential Criteria:
3 GCSEs or equivalent, including English Language (Grades A-C/9-4), and at least 1 year’s experience in a service-oriented role (or equivalent vocational qualification)
Category C1 driving licence (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Flexibility to work at other locations to meet operational demands
Skills & Abilities:
Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally
Attention to detail in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and functionality
Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
Desirable Criteria:
Health & Safety: You will be expected to comply with all relevant health and safety policies and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
