Catering Technician - Ballymena - Full Time

The role:

• Location: Ballymena
• Salary: £12.80 per hour
• Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
• Contract: Sick cover, until approx 27th June 2025 (possibility of extension)

Overview:

• You will provide crucial technical and catering support across campus facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the Canteen, Training Restaurant, Training Kitchens, and associated classrooms supporting both lecturing staff and students.

Key duties:

• Ensuring campus catering areas operate efficiently, hygienically, and to a high standard, contributing to an enjoyable and productive environment for staff and students alike
• Provide technical and catering support for practical curriculum areas, including the Canteen, Training Restaurant, Training Kitchens, and related classrooms.
• Assist lecturers and students in using these areas
• Help deliver the required levels of catering services for college staff, students, and other users during set operating hours
• Cash handling duties.

Criteria:

• Experience in a similar role ie catering / technical support (within an educational or similar setting is preferred)
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work well with lecturing staff, students, and other campus users to provide exceptional service
• Comfortable with cash handling and ensuring accurate transactions
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
