Contract Manager
The Contract Manager plays a critical role in our ability to achieve our goals by creating and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating contracts. In this role, you will be involved in contract development and award, implementation, administration, exit and tender programme support activities.
As we rely on the Contract Manager to resolve any contract-related issues that arise, whether internally or externally, the Contract Manager will, by monitoring and managing the performance of relevant contracts, secure the services contracted, retain control of service delivery and deliver value by adopting a standard and consistent approach and implementing best practice.
We require an individual who is able to partner with a variety of directorates/functions, including ICT, Customer Operations Delivery, and Legal.
The Commercial Contract Management Team (CCMT) is part of the Commercial Team within the FRC Directorate combining Procurement, Commercial Contract Management and Commercial Management Office Teams.
NIW Operational contracts are classified as Gold, Silver and Bronze depending on individual value, complexity and business criticality.
The role of CCMT is to effectively manage these Gold & Silver Contracts and drive efficiencies by developing a culture of continuous improvement and commercial awareness in the performance and delivery of CCMT managed contracts, ensuring both internal users and external service providers are managed effectively and all stakeholders adopt a shared commercial ethos.
The Contract Manager will start as a member of the ICT, Customer Services, and Professional Services Team, but may need to transition to other portfolios as required.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Relevant third level qualification for the post, for example, Engineering, ICT, Business Studies with min 1 year experience of working with external contractors in a commercial environment
OR
- A recognised contract management qualification (WCC/CIPFA) with min 2 year experience of working with external contractors in a commercial environment
OR
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with external contractors in a commercial environment
AND
- Proven ability to manage working relationships with contractors and senior internal stakeholders
- Proven ability to deliver outcomes to tight timescales to include key metrics reporting such as service levels/ KPIs /risks/issues/benefits/costs amongst other key areas.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications.
- Proven ability to achieve a high level of work accuracy
DESIRABLE CRITERIA

- Experience of working in an ICT environment with the ability to understand ICT technical terminology
In the second instance, candidates may be short-listed on the following, additional desirable criteria:
- Experience of output specifications and performance measurement systems.

- Experience of developing and implementing contract management processes & procedures.
In the fourth instance, candidates may be short-listed on the following, additional desirable criteria:
- Understanding of different forms of contract law and contract management principles.
