Business Support Officer (BSO-02-25)
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Finance & Business Services
PURPOSE: To support the Head of Finance and Business services in the provision of a high quality, efficient financial and administrative support function to the organisation
Location: Law Centre NI, Belfast
Salary: Scale 5: SPC 12-17, £24,496 - £26,845
Post: Full-time 35 hours per week
MAIN DUTIES:
1.0 Financial Support
1.1 To be responsible for the accurate recording of financial transactions using sage 50 accounting software, to include sales ledger, purchase ledger, petty cash, credit cards and bank lodgements in accordance with financial policies and procedures and relevant accounting standards.
1.2 Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly finance reports to support funding claims.
1.3 Preparation of claims for funding and collation of backup to support year end claims.
1.4 Assist in the preparation for year-end statutory audit.
1.5 To prepare payroll including, processing, collating and filing of documentation.
2.0 Business Support
2.1 To provide high quality support to the Executive team and Law Centre Board, including to provide minutes and governance support.
2.2 To provide HR administrative support.
2.3 To prepare monthly and quarterly management information reports.
2.4 To assist the Head of Finance in the provision of facilities and ICT support
2.6 Provide occasional backup to front of house services during periods of annual leave/absences.
3.0 DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
3.1 To create, develop and maintain effective internal working relationships.
3.2 To create, develop and maintain effective working relationships with service users/external agencies and relevant stakeholders.
3.3 To lead, facilitate and contribute to meetings/group discussions.
4.0 OTHER
4.1 To act in accordance with the agreed values of the organisation.
4.2 To ensure the policies and procedures of the organisation are observed.
4.3 To undertake any other duties, consistent with the post which may from time to time be required by the Executive Team.
