Data Scientist

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with an established insurance provider as they seek a Data Scientist to join their growing team in Belfast. With a strong presence in the industry for over 25 years, this company is expanding its UK operations to enhance its data science, machine learning, and analytics capabilities.

This role offers the chance to shape AI-driven solutions that enhance customer interactions, streamline risk evaluation, and improve business efficiency.

The Role

As Data Scientist, you will implement machine learning solutions that drive efficiency and innovation in the insurance sector. Key responsibilities include:

• Model Development: Assist in the design and refine ML models for claims processing, fraud detection, and risk analysis.
• Data Engineering: Develop scalable data pipelines and optimise data processing workflows.
• Deployment & MLOps: Collaborate with technical teams to integrate models into production environments and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business leaders to align data strategies with company objectives.
• Research & Innovation: Keep pace with emerging AI technologies and work on proof-of-concept initiatives.

The Person

• Solid programming skills in Python and proficiency with ML frameworks.
• Experience with NLP and Large Language Models.
• Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases and cloud based infrastructure.
• Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD processes and version control.
• Strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills
